How do I place the plaque on a headstone?

Will the plaque hurt or damage the headstone? What if I need to remove it later?

To place the plaque on the headstone:

  1. We recommend placing the QR code on the face of the headstone near the top. This way the QR code isn't damaged by lawn mowers or trimmers. This also makes it easier for visitors to scan and view your page.

  2. Make certain the surface of where you are applying it is clean and dry. It is often wise to use non-permanent tape to momentarily place the plaque and decide where it looks best.

  3. Once you decide where you'd like to place it, simply peel the red backing, make certain it is aligned straight, and press down firmly to apply.

Note that plaques are made to adhere to smooth clean surfaces. If a surface is textured, dirty, or uneven, such as the concrete pad next to most headstones, the plaque may not adhere appropriately. The 3M permanent tape is meant to adhere to a surface permanently under severe conditions such as rain, snow, intense sunshine, etc. That being said, if needed, a plaque may be removed carefully from a headstone by using a hard flat object such as a flat screwdriver to pry the edges of the plaque from the adhesion surface. Once removed, use appropriate headstone cleaner to clean off any remaining sticky residue.
